About A Glass Horse

Alexandra Wilkerson has over 18 years experience with riding and training horses, helping riders become more comfortable and confident, and working with various breeds and styles of riding. She has eight years of experience working with children and horses, running over 10 classes per week with groups of up to 14 students at a time. She has managed a summer camp with a range of 20-40 students each year for the last 4 years. She has experience doing girl & boy scout troops, birthday parties, camps, lessons, training young horses from a fresh start to elite kids' riding horses.

Alex is doing horse training on a personal basis and classes on a private ranch limited to groups of 5. She focuses on teaching western-style riding. Her teaching includes a wide range of important techniques on walking, trotting, loping, hip & shoulder yielding, collecting, and softening the horses through body control and balance. She also puts a lot of time and energy into helping interested students learn more about horse care, such as grooming, saddling, proper feeding, teaching how to de-worm and properly feed and care for the horses.

In detailed lessons, Alex focuses on proper body positioning, diagonals, and body control on horseback, and moving to performance training, such as spinning, sliding, lead changes, etc.

Alex is available for lessons or onsite training 7 days a week.

Not interested in detailed lessons and want to just have a good time on basic rides? Alex loves those, too. She enjoys spending time with people who share her love for horses, but aren't quite interested in the details of performance riding and care.

Regardless of your experience levels, or desires, Alex will fit a ride or lesson schedule that's perfect for you. Please contact her at 972-400-9027 or email us.
